A warm welcome to
SHOW YOUR COLOURS!
My name is Michael Radtke.
For more than 35 years, my world has been media.
As a media entrepreneur, I’ve produced hundreds of TV shows worldwide and created commercials for major brands and global corporations. A fascinating industry—creative, fast, exciting—yet often surprisingly superficial.
Over the years, I felt something was missing more and more: real purpose. Like many people, I was looking for a mission that is more than economic success.
All my life, I’ve been deeply moved by seeing people disadvantaged simply because they are “different.”
Racism isn’t only about origin or skin color. It appears in countless forms: toward people because of their age, a disability, their religion, identity, or social background. Injustice has many faces—and it always violates the dignity of the individual.
At the same time, we are currently witnessing a growing brutalization of our world: wars, social tensions, and political radicalization—in the U.S., in Europe, and in many other places.
Brutal violence and injustices often driven by those in power—the very people we should be able to expect to protect peaceful coexistence.
This development makes it clearer than it has in years: especially today, it matters to take a stand, to act, and not to look away under the motto: “It’ll somehow get better.”
During the COVID pandemic, when the world seemed to stand still and the media business also quieted down, I had time to reflect.
In that phase, a racially motivated murder in the U.S. shook millions of people worldwide—an event that once again showed how pervasive racism and arbitrary violence are.
I asked myself: What can we do to truly make a difference?
The answer was surprisingly simple to me:
In our world, a great deal can be changed through resources and financial means. Major organizations that already fight racism, injustice, and violence worldwide need more support—more power—to create even more impact.
More funding means more influence, more visibility, and more ability to initiate and enforce change. In simple terms: more power.
So I wanted to find a product that people genuinely want to own and buy—one that is meaningfully connected to this idea, this message. And I knew the answer had to be something that also had to do with me.
I come from an artistic family—my father was a painter, my mother an actress. Creativity shaped my life from the very beginning. I’ve worked as a director, cameraman, and photographer—and especially at the start, all brand visuals, including product photography, come from my own hand.
That’s why I wanted to create a product that is itself creative, aesthetic, and sensual.
Something beautiful—perhaps even deliberately “non-essential”—that brings joy, conveys pleasure, and reaches people emotionally. An object you don’t need, but can love. A product that demands design and enables expression.
And that naturally led me to: jewelry.
Fashion jewelry—high-quality in design and craftsmanship—whose symbolic power you can identify with, and want to show outwardly as well.
A daily accessory you truly want to own, proudly wear around the clock, and use to tell others:
“Hey—look. This is what I stand for.”
Jewelry as a visible sign with a double effect: it communicates a stance—and through its proceeds, it supports organizations worldwide that defend human rights and oppose violence.
Beauty meets meaning.
From this idea came a project
And from the project grew the brand SHOW YOUR COLOURS.
Then an intense creative process began. Together with young fashion designers from across Europe, we developed countless ideas and designs—discussed them, discarded them, and reimagined them.
It wasn’t only about aesthetics, but about harmoniously linking design with symbolism, message, and meaning.
Many different thoughts and conceptual approaches flowed into today’s design. The result of this demanding journey: three first collections—reduced, elegant, and unmistakable in their symbolic depth and design.
From the first vision to launch, five years of intensive development passed. We begin at a time when the relevance of this message is greater than it has been in decades.
Our jewelry pieces are intentionally more than accessories. They are symbols.
The brand’s central sign unites four hearts—each represents different people, diversity, and individuality. Only together do they form the complete symbol.
The jewelry designs themselves reflect this idea: connections, contrasts, and materials that meet and interact. Organic, soft material flows through metal; the engravings on the inside; every smallest detail stands for respect, equality, and togetherness.
With a portion of its proceeds, SHOW YOUR COLOURS supports organizations worldwide that actively fight racism, discrimination, and violence.
I am very proud that at the end of 2025, thanks to the first success of SHOW YOUR COLOURS, we were able to transfer our first donation of over €3,000 to AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL.
For me personally, SHOW YOUR COLOURS is more than a brand.
It is a project of the heart—and a mission with purpose. A project into which I can bring everything I’ve learned over more than three decades in media—and one I hope that at the end of my life I may be able to say:
This project truly made a difference.
Warm regards and all the best!
