European Commission against Racism and Intolerance

The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (European Commission against Racism and Intolerance, ECRI for short) is an independent commission of the Council of Europe to combat Racism, discrimination, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and intolerance according to the European Convention on Human Rights and was agreed under international law in 1993. The ECRI is not a convention body, but goes back directly to the decision of the heads of state and government, which was implemented by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Since 2013, she has also dealt with discrimination and intolerance towards gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
